we had our newest booth out this weekend. It is purely a GIF booth in our business, all digital. 

Everyone had had a blast and the results were pretty slick. I even had to give our creature from the grave a high five at the end of the night.

Can you see the gif images on screen in order to position yourself properly?

The live view does show the background and overlay. It is cropped to the size of the photo being taken. So you only see things that will be in frame.
